4th Assignment - Curbing Smoking
Personally, i have no idea why people these days like to smoke so much, despite the harmful effects it gives to the smoker. Don't get me wrong, i have no grudge against smokers. It's just that, i don't get it, why do they like to smoke? It's not like smoking benefits anyone. These days, youths like to smoke. Maybe they think smoking is cool and this could win them popular friends, or maybe it's peer pressure. I think that's common among youths, being peer pressured. They see their friends smoking and they want to smoke too to feel accepted. To me, i don't think that's what it is called friends. Good friends don't smoke, well, most of them don't. Even if they smoke, they would not pressure their other friends in smoking. I think the we should have more ads to enforce awareness for the harmful effects of smoking. Maybe, that could help.
I'm thankful to Sir Richard Doll as he has made people realise the consequences of smoking. Because of him, loads of people around the world has stopped smoking and he even saved lives.
